The First Impact program was launched in 2016 by ThinkFirst Missouri, a trauma prevention program of the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Funds for the program are provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Highway Safety and Traffic Division. ThinkFirst Missouri received a gift from State Farm Insurance in the spring of 2018. State Farm’s gift will fund at least 24 additional First Impact parent programs throughout Missouri.
