1. Are the programs offered accredited?
The MS in Health Informatics program is accredited by The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
2. What is the application deadline?
Applications will open August 1 and close February 1 for Fall admission in the next year. To receive priority for potential financial support within the department, residential program applications should be submitted prior to November 1.
3. Do you require the GRE or GMAT?
The GRE and GMAT exams are not required.
4. Do you have an academic advisor?
Our academic advisor is Christopher Brown, who is our Senior Student Services Coordinator. Christopher has been with the University of Missouri since 2019 where he was an Academic Advisor for the Psychological Sciences Department and a Senior Academic Advisor for the Trulaske College of Business. He is two-time graduate from Arkansas State University where he obtained his BS in Interdisciplinary Studies and MA in Communication Studies. He has worked in higher education for over ten years at institutions in Kentucky, Arkansas, and now Missouri.
5. Do you have help for career placement?
Our program with the help of our Alumni and BBME Advisory Board, actively helps students find internships that facilitate future employment. Additional career placement is provided by the University of Missouri Career Center.
6. How long does it take your applicants to graduate? Do they find employment after?
We will be updating our graduation and employment rates for the 2023 year shortly. The majority of our students graduate from the full Masters in two years with a very high rate of post-graduation employment.
7. Do I need to have the prerequisite courses completed prior to beginning the program?
No, with the exception of Statistical Analysis, we build the prerequisite courses into the plan of study if you have not previously taken them in the past; however, we highly recommend enrolling in the prerequisite courses if you can before beginning the program.
If you are an executive applicant you can complete some of the prerequisite materials via independent study through our website after acceptance to the program.

Each BBME course is worth 3 credit hours, unless otherwise stated.
