Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital
Harry S. Truman VA hospital has a unique patient population as you serve veterans who have served from WW II to current OEF/OIF. Patients are from all over the state as well as surrounding states. The hospital offers endless opportunities not only for learning hands on and seeing interesting pathology but to also give back to our veterans. The VA has a continuity clinic that allows you to be the primary care for a panel of patients. Our residents rotate through inpatient medicine, ICU and some consult services as well as outpatient clinics.
University Hospital
The University hospital is an approximately 300 bed teaching hospital that offers many opportunities in dealing with a vast array and severity of illnesses. Patients come from all across the state for primary through tertiary care. The hospital offers many different services, specialties, and several ICUs. Our residents rotate through most consult services, inpatient medicine, hematology/oncology as well as ER.
Fairview Internal Medicine and Pediatrics
Fairview internal medicine is a tremendous place to learn the art of outpatient medicine. The clinic is located a couple miles west of the main university hospital campus. The clinic is staffed by a friendly, helpful, and multidisciplinary team both for patients and for new residents. This really is where the front lines of medicine take place and you get to be a part of it here.
University Physicians Medical Building
University Physicians Medical Building is within walking distance from the main hospital. It has outpatient clinics for most of the subspecialty services that our residents will get to rotate through.
