Gastrointestinal Pathology Fellows

Bio: Dr. Rukiye Yılmaz Akpolat was born and raised in Rize, Türkiye. She earned her medical degree from Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine and completed her pathology residency at RTE University Training and Research Hospital. Following her residency, Dr. Yılmaz Akpolat worked as a practicing pathologist in Türkiye. Driven by a passion for gastrointestinal pathology and a commitment to lifelong learning, Dr. Yılmaz Akpolat joined the University of Missouri to pursue advanced fellowship training in Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology. Her professional interests include gastrointestinal pathology and diagnostic surgical pathology. Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Yılmaz Akpolat enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new places.
