The Committee on Curriculum has oversight for the content and quality of the School of Medicine’s curriculum. The Curriculum Committee meets monthly to consider items relating to curriculum and is composed of 15 elected members.
Nine faculty members are elected from the Columbia campus and one from the Springfield campus. Five non-voting student members are selected, with one from each class and an additional student from the Springfield campus.
The Curriculum Committee elects its officers at the first meeting each academic year. The 2025-2026 officers are Luis Polo-Parada, chair; Michael McCullough, vice chair; and Mark Ellis, secretary and past chair.
Meetings of the Curriculum Committee are open to faculty and student observers. The Curriculum Committee sponsors and oversees faculty teaching awards each year.
