Each summer, the School of Medicine provides a weeklong orientation and a White Coat Ceremony for incoming first-year students. Two or three rising second-year students will serve as orientation leaders. Their tasks will include organizing specific events during orientation, including providing two sessions; contacting and arranging session speakers and facilities; encouraging classmates to help with orientation activities, the White Coat Ceremony and social activities; revising the Panacea; assisting with the organization of the White Coat Ceremony; and helping with white coat distribution at the ceremony.
This year’s orientation will be July 30 – August 3, 2018. The White Coat Ceremony is currently scheduled for August 3, 2018. Tasks will require a significant time commitment throughout May, June and July and full-time attendance and participation during orientation and the White Coat Ceremony. The stipend is $1,200.
