Continuity Clinics
Residents have their private practice clinic in one of four family medicine clinics:
South Providence Family Medicine Clinic
South Providence Medical Park (SPMP) is located in Columbia, MO and opened in January 2015. The clinic emphasizes a collaborative care model. Residents work with nurses, care managers, social work, nutrition, behavioral health, and outpatient pharmacists. Residents work together in the blue pod, one of the three large, open, work space areas. This open space design improves communications and collaborations among team members and fellow residents. In addition to family medicine, SPMP is home to outpatient general pediatrics and adult psychiatric care clinics. Other services offered at the building include drive-through pharmacy, lab, and radiology.

Family Medicine-Callaway Physicians
Callaway Physicians is in Fulton, a community of 13,000 located 25 miles east of Columbia. This rural practice provides comprehensive and continuing health care to a large and diverse patient population. While this clinic is located in a rural community, patients and physicians have access to Callaway Community Hospital, which is located across the street from clinic.

Family Medicine-Fayette
Fayette Medical Clinic is in Fayette, a town of 2,800 located 30 miles northwest of Columbia. This rural practice provides a wide spectrum of family medicine services. Residents gain valuable experience in Fayette, understanding the importance of a rural clinic with no hospital in town.
Family Health Center
Compass Health Network, formerly known as Family Health Center, is a federally funded community health center established to expand primary care services to uninsured and underinsured patients in the Columbia area. Residents provide medical and social care to this diverse set of patients, including a significant number of expectant mothers and Spanish-speaking patients.
Inpatient Training
Residents train at two area facilities:
University Hospital
University Hospital is a 274-bed hospital that offers a wide range of services, and is the only level I trauma center in Mid-Missouri. Within the hospital, our residents also work in the Emergency Room, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), and on our Family Medicine inpatient service as well as the Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine consult services.
Women's Hospital
MIn June 2024, we will be transitioning from MU Women’s Hospital, a 189-bed MU Health Care hospital, to the new Children’s Hospital and Birthing Center. The new hospital will be adjacent to University Hospital keeping our rotations in one central location. The new facilities will house the new Family Birthing Center for our obstetric rotations, and 25 pediatric subspecialties where we will also care for pediatric patients.
