Fellows in cardiovascular disease obtain substantial experience in the diagnosis and management of advanced heart failure during the course of their fellowship through their rotations in the cardiac intensive care units, catheterization labs, and both inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic services.

If they choose, fellows may elect a one-month rotation in advanced heart failure at Washington University in St. Louis, where they will learn about and gain experience in the use of LVADs and cardiac transplantation.
