1991 – UMOA supports humanitarian project in Caribbean in our Newsletter 1991.
1992 – Dr. Vernon Luck, Sr. establishes the first named Orthopaedic Professorship at MU in 1992.
1994 – Dr. Steve Olson (far left) established the annual Resident Research Award in 1994 which was the first named award for resident training excellence.
1995 – US News & World Report ranks MU Orthopaedics in the Top 40 Programs!
1996 – Former residents and faculty at 1996 AAOS in Atlanta. Dr. Hummel (far left) and his wife established the Barry J. Gainor Resident Teaching Award in 1998 to honor Dr. Gainor as a role model educator.
