The MU School of Medicine Department of Neurology Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

In response to growing concerns for deficiencies in diversity and inclusion, the Department of Neurology has created a Committee for Inclusion and Diversity. The purpose of the committee is to promote operations-level measures to broaden diversity and inclusion in the department. Each committee members also functions as an ombudsman for any resident, faculty, or staff in need. The committee reports directly to the Department Chair.

The committee should have input, as appropriate, to the majority of personnel operations such as recruitment of faculty, trainees and staff, and the departments residency and fellowship training programs. The committee will serve to promote diversity and inclusion at all levels.

The committee will promote involvement of minority department members at the department and campus level.

The committee will identify concerns and issues for faculty, staff and trainees and identify those responsible to address.  The committee will support department leadership and other responsible parties in addressing concerns as they arise, and will support the concerned party, including anonymously if needed.

The committee shall meet periodically and report to the Chair following committee meetings.
