University of Missouri Health Care and the MU School of Medicine recognize the importance of specialty training and the need to have access to post graduate training to maximize the advanced skills and knowledge that this fast-paced field requires.

Our Neurology Department is composed of highly trained board-certified Neurologists and sub-specialists that choose to work in academic medicine to prepare young professionals to work in this demanding career. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) fellowships align seamlessly with the Neurology Physician Residency and our team of educators include physicians, PAs, NPs, and research specialists.

Neuroscience Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship

The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Neuroscience Fellowship is a rigorous 12-month post-graduate training that combines didactics with bedside clinical instruction to prepare graduates for a rewarding career within neuroscience specialties. The 12 month program rotates between 3 key neuroscience departments; PM&R, Neurosurgery, and Neurology.

The fellowship offers a competitive salary, CME stipend, full University Benefits on day 1, including liability insurance, health insurance, retirement & employee assistance program. After successfully completing the program, fellows receive a certificate of completion from the University of Missouri

Entry checklist

  • Must be a certified PA or graduate eligible to be certified by NCCPA
  • Or a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and eligible for certification by an approved national licensing body, such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and Certification from a state nursing licensing board
